I Had a Bad Day

I knew it was not going to be a good day when the thunder woke me up at 02:00 this morning.

I had to get up and check the radar. I am silly like that. I always feel if a tornado is bearing down on the house, I want to make sure I am wearing a good pair of jammies. Being found dangling in a tree wearing an old t-shirt and a pair of ratty boxers would be unacceptable.

(Vain … perhaps)

It comes from my parents telling us to be prepared for emergencies. You know, no holes in your underpants in case you are in a car wreck.

Anyway, I explained to my dear sweet hubby that I had to go down to check the radar.

Bad move #1 – Don’t wake up spouse in middle of his deep sleep to explain why you are not in a deep sleep.

I then walked right into the wall. (I don’t suppose I need to explain this is Bad move #2)

I have a lovely goose egg on my forehead.

Bad Move #3 – Yelping in pain … This was not really a bad move … But grouchy sleeping spouse asked if I was going to keep making so much noise. Perhaps he could get more sleep if I hit the wall hard enough to knock myself out.

… and Bad move #4 – Was the mistake of not going back to bed and staying there until Friday. It went down hill fast from there.

I would say, “Smile, it could be worse.” But I am afraid to curse my future with that comment.
